It’s me again. Still pretending to have a conversation with my website. Just invented something in my head: 3D drinking glasses. Patent pending me getting a patent.
Things are heating up, at least seasonally. Time to put away the down jacket from 1972 and break out the Bermuda shorts and other clothing named after a series of islands. This summer I will be appearing on TV more than once. Also, I will be visible in a live format. Is that vague enough for you? I can make it even less clear if you prefer. What am I talking about? If you have to ask, you can’t afford it. Just get ready cause here I come, ready or not. That last sentence did not have a nice ring to it.Love,
Andy Kindler
I caught the Comedy Central show after your mailing list told me about it. Thank you mailing list. Please notify me of any and all appearances, except those where I have to pay.

I was hoping you would be in Vegas in July when I'm there...can you rearrange your substantive schedule to accommodate mine? Thanks, Roberta
Posted by: roberta | May 10, 2010 at 03:50 PM
Will do Kurt. You will be notified of all "free" activities.
I don't know about rearranging my schedule Roberta. Are you going to see Blue Man Group? I'm just wondering who their target audience is.

I really enjoy your sense of humor. I met you once in Seattle after a show and you were very friendly. Glad to see you are still in the game. You are very talented. Thanks for the smiles. Cheers.

Hi Andy,
I was a huge(large? enormous? overweight?) fan of "The Dick & Paula Celebrity Special" for the brief moment the series aired. Have you heard any rumblings of it coming out on DVD for the cultists like myself and for cash payments for talent like you?
PS I enjoyed the Bitter DVD. It captured a wonderful moment in the history of shtick.

Hey this place is hopping. Thank you Krunchy Kangaroo. I appreciate those kind words. Did I just thank Krunchy Kangaroo?
Scott, I have no news about "Dick and Paula." I loved doing that show. It should come out on DVD if there is any justice in the DVD universe.
Glad you enjoyed the Bitter DVD. Should have another one out by the end of the next decade.

Congratulations, Andy, on your mention in The New York Times on June 9. Included among All The News That's Fit to Print is their review of Showtime's “The Green Room With Paul Provenza.” The Times says the series gets off to a "pleasant but unremarkable" start, adding, "things perk up after that, though (with) Dana Gould and the cult favorite Andy Kindler."
To this I say: Cult schmult - Andy Kindler is our mainstream and prime time favorite! You wait, Andy, The Times is a bit behind ... the times.

Thanks again mailing list. I've been watching you on Last Comic Standing, and it's been great. I can't believe the comic who did the bit about Eva Braun and Hitler didn't make it through, though.

Look, I'll put up with half-swallowed jokes and half-baked material and even half-finished DVDs but if you disparage Central Standard Time (or Daylight!) even once more, I'm throwing away all my Andy Kindler Official Merchandise and tearing up my Fan Club membership.

Nothing is recent? How about this comment?

Hello Andy,
I hope all is well with you. I hope you don't mind if I release the gato from the bag, but my friends in the biz tell me you are in contract negotiations for a reality show with Dick Van Dyke, Jonathan Winters, and Jerry Lewis......something called "Last Standing Comic"? anyway ...best of luck with that.

During your special I posted a 140 character paraphrase of your Fritter joke on Twitter thinking "this will really annoy him." But how can it annoy you if you don't know about it?

Yeah, you're welcome.

Andy, I appreciate you will be appearing in a live format but do you have it also in EXCEL format?

Hey, Andy
After LCS you should take a break and go camping!
I found a good camping spot for you - It's a South Dakota state park named Lake Roy. I was just there. No electricity or flush toilets, and the shore is made of big rocks. It's in the middle of a Sioux Indian reservation. Makes your New York Indian
lakes look silly with their long names, huh? Hey, you know, YOU have a camping name. "Kindler," which translates "man who starts fire with small twigs"....if I remember my Camp Fire girls training correctley. Love your stuff on LSC! Why can't I be on it? Would you consider having auditions in Fargo, ND? Bye, Rita from Fargo, ND.

Andy, love the show, really, Last Comic standing is prolly the best show on at 9.00 PM (8.00 PM Central, your mileage may vary, void where prohibitted, batteries not included) on that channel on Monday! (Unless on another night as well.) The guy from the Bronx is the best! And your comments kill me. BTW, who is the broad on your left. Er, your other left. Atta boy. Really Andy, since the days at University Stereo, well, a lot of things have happened. But not matter what, I don't care what anyone says about you!
Oddly enough, my wife LOVES the show and thinks you are funny. I told her that was your job and she was fine with that. She also admired the arc of your character on "Everyone Loves Raymond."
So, if you ever come to Lawn Guyland, we would love to be your guests at a show!
Take care or anything else you want to pal!

one last thing.
when you sign on here, rather when I sign on here, it asks for name but indicates that is optional.
do you know anyone who does not have a name? so, it is not really optional.
that is, of course, ones name actually is "Optional", but I would think that would be a foreigner. What do you think? Discuss. Tip the veal, try the waitress...

Everyone on this thread needs to stop being funnier than me this instant, unless you were not being funnier than me, in which case proceed.
I miss University Stereo. Odd but true.

Andy - you probably thought I was NOT funnier than you,
so I will proceed. I went on another field trip counting
bees in ND. We had a girl along named Amber and we took her picture waving at grain. Email me!
Bye,
Rita from Fargo

You killed last night on Comedy Central. I learned to say "killed" from watching you on Comedy Central.
Posted by: Kurt | August 10, 2010 at 08:02 AM
It turns out you killed on NBC. I never pay attention to what channel I'm watching.

Andy,
I was lucky enough to catch your show in Salt Lake at Wise Guys this weekend and it was a real pleasure to speak with you afterwards. I post only to say this- I live downtown near where the symphony performs. As I was walking home from your show, I was standing at a light waiting to cross with three musicians from the symphony and their topic of conversation was the fact that they thought their attendence that night was low because the circus was in town. Take solace, Andy. :)

Hi Coreena,
It was nice meeting you. This story is the greatest. No one would believe the sequence of events, except we can testify that it's true. I will be relating this onstage, which I hope you don't mind.
Thanks so much for writing.
Take care,
Andy

Not mind? I can't think of a higher compliment than being in your act. :D I like to think somewhere after the weekend, there's a depressed trained elephant leaving Utah who maintains he only drew in four people because Andy Kindler was in town. That's right. In my reality talking elephants take a backseat to great comedy.

Hey Andy,
I'm in the process of writing a paper this evening (morning) and your Comedy Central special just happened to air. Always enjoyable. You, sir, are quite a card. Any observations on nineteenth century Europe?
